Generated AI and AI Governance: Balancing Innovation and Responsibility
Abstract
This keynote explores the transformative potential and challenges of Generated AI—technologies like ChatGPT and DALL•E—while addressing the critical need for robust governance frameworks. As Generated AI reshapes industries from business and healthcare to education and the arts, its rapid evolution poses significant questions: How do we harness these innovations responsibly, and how can we govern technologies that develop faster than traditional regulatory systems?
The talk highlights three key themes:
1.The Promise of Generated AI: From enhancing productivity to fostering creativity, this technology offers unprecedented opportunities across multiple sectors.
2.Governance Challenges: Critical issues include transparency, bias, intellectual property, misinformation, and cross-border complexities that require agile regulatory responses.
3.A Path Forward for Ethical AI Governance: Proposing a framework built on global collaboration, transparency, accountability, fairness, and human-centered design, the talk emphasizes the importance of inclusive policies that balance innovation with societal well-being.
Ultimately, the future of AI depends not only on the technology’s capabilities but also on the collective choices we make in governing it. By committing to responsible, ethical AI governance today, we can ensure that Generated AI serves the public good and aligns with humanity’s best interests.
